Once again, we cordially welcome you to the website of St. Paul’s Syrian Orthodox Church. May God Bless you abundantly, and keep you in His divine care.

Good Friday Thoughts
Leviticus Ch: 4, 5, 6, and 7: (chapters read for last prayer meeting) explain variety of laws and regulations about offerings and sacrifices offered in the land of Israel so as to maintain a close relationship with their Almighty God / how penalties are paid for different types of sins. But when generations went by, these ceremonies and sacrifices became mere rituals and used as punishments imposed upon common people by the religious leaders.

When Daniel Master (one of our members) and I visited the poor people of Kammam district in Gujarat, India as missionaries ten years ago, we saw the villagers sacrificing animals to please their Gods. They posted a white flag at the front of their house to show others that they sacrificed an animal that same day. Some of the villagers explained to us through an interpreter that they used to sacrifice humans few decades ago especially young girls for the well being of their families and fields in that same village.

Our Merciful Father in Heaven sent his only begotten Son Jesus Christ to this world to shed his blood and die on the cross to abolish all these sacrifices and related regulations once and for all forever. No more human or animal sacrifices for Christians! Not anymore! The path of salvation has opened freely for us and for ever through the ultimate sacrifice of our Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ. You don’t have to pay a penny as price for your short comings anymore. Already paid for you! No more penalties. He has already paid for our sins that we have committed, committing and going to commit in the future. Christ already paid it on the cross for all of us.

The most precious thing that you can do is to come to Christ and say: Lord, I repent of my sins and so, come to my heart so that I can make you my Lord and my Savior. This prayer can change your life forever. Salvation is right here. No more punishments for your sins. No more sacrifices to be offered for the sins that you have committed. No, not anymore! Come to our St. Paul’s Church and join with us in our communion services. Come to one of the priests and confess of all the sins. You are forgiven. You are completely washed and cleaned. Today paradise is yours! Believe it! Accept it! Come to our Lord’s Cross and receive it!

God bless you!

-Fr. Paul Parambath
